Raycast is a spotlight replacement for OS-X. I use the free version, as I have not seen any reason so far for the paid version. There are other options out there if you need unlimited clipboard, etc.
Besides being a search tool for files and apps, you can install extension that allow you to access/control those app. Spotify is one example (see below).
Another extension you can use is brew, or home brew. Home brew is a package installer, and can be used to install apps like Spotify without having to go to the app store, or their website to download the installer. These can be other things to control those via command line or the actually application itself or cask.
